Annie (Rose Byrne) works at a museum in her small hometown of Sandcliffe, England. She lives with her longtime boyfriend Duncan, who is a college teacher during the day and by night, Duncan is a dedicated and obsessed fan of an American rock star, Tucker Crowe (Ethan Hawke).

Tucker Crowe hasn't been sighted or created any new music since the 90's. Duncan has formed an online forum of die-hard Tucker Crowe fans, where they sleuth and try to fill in the gaps of Tucker's movements, from his last sighting to his life at present.

Annie has accepted that Tucker is the third person in her and Duncan's relationship. Duncan has turned his man cave in the basement into a shrine where he spends his free time worshipping Tucker Crowe.

Duncan receives one of Tucker Crowe's exclusive mix tapes, that hasn't been published to his audience. After listening to this unreleased album, Annie doesn't value the significance of the album the same way Duncan does. Annie creates an alias profile and critiques Duncan's post on his online forum. Annie soon realises that she has received a private reply to her honest review from Tucker Crowe himself!

Duncan finds validation of the unreleased album from his new co-worker, Gina, played by Denise Gough. Duncan and Gina spark up a romantic relationship. Annie decides it's best that Duncan leaves the home.

Annie and Tucker Crowe become more familiar with each other through their online conversations. Eventually Tucker has to fly to London and plans to meet up with Annie. Annie agrees to meet Tucker but is confronted by his reality of relationships and paternity.

Tucker invites himself back to Sandcliffe, where he and Annie get to know each other a bit more. Annie's new friendship with Tucker creates a realisation to Annie that she has always wanted a family someday.

Eventually, Annie introduces Tucker to his worshipping fan, Duncan. At first Duncan doesn't believe that Tucker Crowe is with his ex, in his small town and right in front of him. Duncan begins to question the authenticity of the information he has compiled about his celebrity idol, over the years!

Annie and Tucker continue their friendship and test the boundary of the relationship to be a romantic one. Annie quickly withdraws herself back to reality and sees that Tucker is already dealing with his paternity complications and motivates Annie to start the journey of motherhood, a life that she has been wanting for some time.

You will enjoy the humor in this film; it is an easy watch and a movie I could re-watch. The boring and simple life of Annie's is a bit bland in the film, but the irony behind the story line is hilarious! The soundtrack on this film is contemporary and suitable to the subject of the film.

I would rate this movie a 5/10 and recommended it to anyone wanting a film to watch on a lazy day!
