Something's Gotta Give - 2003

Marin Klein (Amanda Peet) works as an Auctioneer in New York where she meets Harry Sanborn, played by Jack Nicholson. Harry is a bachelor and a music producer in the rap and hip-hop industry of New York.

After recently meeting, Marin decides to take Harry to her mother's beautiful beach house in the Hamptons for the weekend. Unknown to Marin her mum, Erica Barry, is staying at the beach house for the weekend as well. Erica Barry, played by Diane Keating, is a successful Broadway play writer, who's planned to spend a couple of days at the beach house, with her sister Zoe (Francis McDormand).

Erica and Zoe are startled to find that Marin and Harry arrived while they were out. Erica learns that Harry and Marin are in a romantic relationship, to which Zoe and Erica are both amused and against.

During a moment of passion and seduction, Harry suddenly has a heart attack. Erica and Zoe rush in to the rescue. Harry is rushed to hospital and treated for a mild heart attack.

Keanu Reeves plays Doctor Julian Mercer, who treats Harry for his heart attack. Julian is a massive fan of Erica Barry's work. Zoe and Marin leave for the week back to their usual lives, while Erica is left to care for Harry at her Hampton's beach house until he is cleared to return to New York. Dr Julian Mercer visits Erica's home to check on Harry.

Instantly we see the admiration and new romance developed between Julian for Erica. Julian asks Erica out on a date. Erica also starts to get Harry's attention! Erica's quiet, single life is suddenly shaken up when she has two men in her life that are slowly turning her "normal" upside down, taking her on a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences.

Erica falls hard for Harry. Harry isn't sure if he wants to be in love or continue being the bachelor with short-lived flings with younger women. Erica is ready for love but realises the fantasy screenplays she writes are soon becoming her reality. Erica learns that love is hard and she quickly draws back to protect herself. Harry leaves Erica heart broken.

Heartbroken, Erica turns her heartbreak into a screen play! Erica moves on and sparks up a new and exciting relationship with Dr Mercer and Harry continues living his life as a bachelor. Harry later allows himself to be in love and he chases Erica up in Paris!

Diane Keating & Keanu Reeves - Something's Gotta Give.

This movie was a great and easy watch, and I would recommend this one to any viewer looking for a romantic comedy.
