Comedy/Romance

TV Producer Abby (Katherine Heigl) is looking for true love and believes "Mr. Right" is out there and can tick every box on her checklist! Abby works as a news producer for a morning show, with ratings that aren't impressive to the news company's corporate bosses.
Abby's boss decides to hire Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler), who hosts the late-night show, The Ugly Truth, to help boost the ratings. Abby and Mike are surprised to meet each other at the office of the morning show, as they met the night before when Abby phoned in on Mike's show to contest him about relationships between men and women.
In this romantic comedy, the battle against the sexes becomes a challenge for both Abby and Mike. Abby wants a boyfriend but needs the proper coaching to get her one and keep him on the hook, while Mike is steering clear of love, relationships and anything serious or long term.
Mike proves that his theories and way that a man thinks is true, when he helps Abby bag her new cute neighbor Colin (Eric Winter). Colin is an orthopedic surgeon that ticks most the qualities on Abby's checklist. Abby soon realises that Colin is falling for the "Mike-version of Abby" and not her true authentic control-freak self. Abby realises that she's also proving Mike wrong about his belief of men falling in love with women because of their personalities.
Abby and Mike realise that they both are in love with each other. Mike pulls away to protect his feelings being hurt and Abby leaves Colin. Mike and Abby end up getting together.
The plot was easy to follow and understand, and the ending was a positive one for both Mike and Abby. Overall, it is a favorite romantic comedy of mine that I have always loved since it was released.
The soundtrack on the film is upbeat pop music, featuring artists such as Katy Perry (Hot & Cold), Flo Rida ft Kesha (Right Round) and Natasha Bedingfield (Pocket Full of Sunshine). It is popular music from within the timeline the movie was produced/released. The characters fashion sense is modern and a reflection of the year 2009.
I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for a romantic comedy to watch.
